Honoring Our Heros

Broadway met New Jersey in the spectacular Rising Phoenix Dance Tribute for the 911 ten year anniversary. The event took place at the beautiful Crossroads Theater in New Brunswick, NJ. Choreographers, Elise Counts, Christina Rak Sampson ( Mrs. NJ 2006) and Courtney George put together a show the was as inspiring as it was entertaining. The whole Mrs. New Jersey Organization was thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful event.

Congrats Judge Tiffany

I love going out to support and celebrate the accomplishments of my friends. On this day I was in Newark, NJ, applauding the Honorable Judge Tiffany Williams as she was recognized for her work as Founder of the Esther Project, a movement that encourages women to live with purpose.

Happy Halloween!

Spooky ghosts, ghouls and characters of whimsy, were all in attendance at what is reported to be the second largest parade in the world, the Toms River Halloween Parade! It was my pleasure to ride and wave in the parade which has been around for 74 years. I would like to send a special "thank you" to Downs Ford of Toms River for allowing me to ride in style.

It is always a pleasure to come out and support a great cause. It is particularly fun when you are surrounded by fun people, beautiful cars and delicious s'mores. Downs Ford,in Toms River, played host to raise money for area schools. I enjoyed the day, meeting people, signing autographs and dancing to the DJ's tune with my director, Geri. I would to send out a special thanks to Downs Ford owner Frank Delia, for my the day super special for all who attended.

Nothing beats seeing what creative, talented designers have on tap for the upcoming season. That's why I was so very excited to be invited to view designer extraordinaire Thomas Lavone's stunning Collection at the Bryant Park Hotel for New York Fashion Week. Lavone's presentation was a classy combination of gorgeous fabrics, beautiful silhouettes and bright bold color. Visit http://www.thomaslavone.com/ to see some of these incredible creations for yourself.

Networking Event Benefiting Kick Cancer Overboard

I enjoyed a lovely evening out networking, meeting and greeting people at the fabulous Draft House in Long Branch, NJ. This great event not only served as a connection opportunity for some local business owners, but also benefited my platform charity Kick Cancer Overboard. Thanks to all who came out to help a great cause.

Miss Somerdale Pageant

I am always so impressed with the young ladies that I come across in the wonderful world of pageantry. From my fellow judges, all of whom competed at this year's Miss New Jersey Pageant for the Miss America Organization, to the beautiful, bright, and ambitious contestants. All of these young women are ready, willing and able to take the world by storm. I am so honored to be a witness to their awesome journey towards success!

An Esther Evening!

Coming together to empower and inspire is just what I did, along with my beautiful sisters of the Esther Project, in what we called "An Evening of Esther". Women learning from one another, supporting each other and sharing praise is what the Esther Project is all about. My contribution to the cause is to help women realize both their inner and outer beauty while walking in their purpose.

Supporting young people is something that is very close to my heart, that is why I was so honored to host the first Next Level Youth Pageant in East Windsor, NJ. Next Level Youth is a non-profit corporation dedicated to serving and empowering our youth. Congratulations to all the beautiful young ladies who competed as well as Evelyn Mccleod and her good friend Pandora Wilson-Chess for producing a great show!

Chatting it up with Della Crews

One of the highlights of my reign so far was having the opportunity to talk about my family, passions and my life as Mrs. New Jersey America when I was featured on Channel 12's Spotlight New Jersey. Also, featured on the show was my lovely mother Ilona, my beautiful daughter Milan, and great friend Mrs. Redbank Donnalyn.

I had the pleasure of sharing the runway with Mrs. Freehold Township Shanna Edwards as we rocked stunning gowns by designer Thomas Lavone.

Miss Senior New Jersey

Proving that "age is nothing but a number", some of New Jersey's most beautiful and equally talented came out to compete for the title of Miss Senior New Jersey 2011. The best thing about the pageant was the fact that every contestant was over the age of 60! I sat in both amazement and admiration as I watched these women  strut their stuff with the kind of poise and confidence that you can only get with age. The experience was proof that it is never to late to follow your dreams.

Hanging with Mrs. Delaware at the Jersey Shore

One of the best things about participating in the Mrs. America Pageant is the friendships I formed. Here I am, with my daughter Milan, hanging out with my good friend Shana, Mrs. Delaware 2011. We enjoyed fried Oreos and other boardwalk goodies at the Jersey Shore. Nothing beats great weather and great food with a great friend.

The House that love Built

I believe I can speak for all the delegates at the Mrs. America Pageant when I say that the single best experience of the entire two weeks in beautiful West Virginia was when we volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. The best part of it all was getting to know the family that was moving in to the home. It was truly a day that will live in my mind forever.

Tuesday, May 24

1 and 2 and 3 and 4! Yeah, Yeah!

Though we had a ton of fun at Mrs. America, it was a lot of hard work too. We had rehearsals everyday, for hours. We had to memorize dance routines, walking patterns and formations. Our choreographers (brothers named Frit and Frat) did a great job teaching us how to put on a great show. All our hard work came together when we rocked our opening number while wearing beautiful cocktail dresses provided by Tony Bowls.
